Leopard Cubs: Big MaleTerritory Skirmish
Shot on Location:
Mala Mala Game Reserve, South Africa, August 2013 with the Canon 1Dx and 500mm f/4
Back in 2011, I photographed an extremely gorgeous migrant leopard nicknamed the Concrete male. Since then, he carved out a nice territory at Mala Mala and was officially named the West Street male. HIs most known competitior, the much huskier Newton leopard, had been trying to barge in on his lucrative terriroty. So the West Street male got wise, bulked up, and is now holding his own nicely.
